Krabi

Next destination, Krabi.
Back onto the mainland we headed to the West side of Thailand for our last few days with Dani. Took a long tail boat out to the islands and got soaked in the choppy seas. Spent time snorkeling amongst loads of fish, swimming, baking in the sun and crossing between islands via the sandbars. A pretty good day out.... and a good farewell to Dani.

Hanging out on the white powder sand.

Getting soaked on the boat.

Jarrod falling over, gracefully.

Chicken Island ...looks like a chicken.

Swimming at Poda island.

Koh Phangan

Headed from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan.... to our own little private bay. Spent a few days here before moving further north on the Island to Mae Haad, a much better beach. Beautiful water, snorkeling, Thai massages, scooter days and plenty of laziness. An excellent beachy time.

Looking onto Koh Ma Island.

Scootering around the island looking at the waterless waterfalls.

Our local Hornbill.

Our private beach at Haad Gruad.

Koh Tao

After meeting our buddy Dani in Bangkok and spending a few days checking it all out.... we headed south on a horrendous party bus to Koh Tao. Got little bungalows by the sea and spent a few days chilling and sweating down by the waters edge. Verity and Emma... a couple of other buddies, met us there as well bringing even more fun times with them!

Party in Bangkok.

Just imagine heavy bass, loud music, laser lights and Thai girls dancing on a massive screen ... that's our party bus!

Dani, loving it.

A good night out in Koh Tao.

Sukhothai

Headed from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai in the centre of Thailand... and the location of a pretty cool ancient city. Had a great, very hot day cycling around the massive site visiting the ruins and the numerous Buddhas.

Cool Wats.

Wat about Jarrod showing off his top biking skills. Sweet bike.

Wat about this one?

Wat about these guys?

Christmas in Chiang Mai

We rented a two bedroom apartment for Christmas just out of Chiang Mai which turned out to be a 4 bedroom palace on 20 hectares of manicured gardens. Complete with swans, peacocks, a duck that thought he was a peacock and a luxurious pool, we felt like kings for a week. Spent our time swimming, eating great food and riding completely dodgy scooters! In central Chiang Mai we checked out a couple of the coolest Wats (temples) we'd seen so far and spent a great day hanging with Harriet and the Copestake crew.

Our amazing pool at our Christmas mansion.

Jarrod sneaking a peek at the pressies.

Christmas lunch.... well delicious!

Lighting our wishing lanterns on Christmas night.

Logan and his new Bingo set! Hours of fun.

Joel and his extremely tangled fishing net. Didn't even manage to get it in the water.

The Copestake gang and some funny poses going on.

Pai

Back into Thailand again after a few months away. We headed up to the north to an awesome little place called Pai. A really cool, creative town set amongst the highlands..... Met our English girls again so had lots of fun with them...... enjoyed good BBQ skewers, a great elephant ride and a fun day scootering around, complete with a couple of crashes! Probably our favourite place in Thailand.

Biker gang!

Ready to hit the road.... literally for some!

Mucking around atop a waterfall.

Logan n Sam about to get bucked off their elephant.

Poser on an elephant!

Luang Prabang

A different (more wealthy) typed of tourist destination here... but really nice. Old french colonial town set in a beautiful place. Rode bikes around the place, visited the Wats and headed out to the Kuang Si waterfalls that were ridiculously picturesque and insanely blue. Even saw a few grizzlies...

A-top the hill in the center of town overlooking all of the temples.

Awe ...one of the Asiatic Black Bears we stumbled across

Jarrod ...swinging
